Public Relations

Somerset Community College is a comprehensive community college with an enrollment of more than 5,000 students. The College has campuses in Laurel County (London, KY) and Somerset (Pulaski County, KY) and centers in McCreary County, Clinton County and Russell County. Off-campus evening classes are taught in Rockcastle, Casey, Wayne and Cumberland Counties.

How to obtain information about the College

The Somerset Community College Office of Public Relation welcomes inquires from the media concerning the College. We will make every effort to answer your questions, provide you with the facts or arrange interviews for you with College employees or students.

Methods of releasing news about the College

The Office of Public Relations generally uses e-mail as it's primary method of distributing news releases about the College, however, we will be glad to accommodate any special requirements for your medium. We use digital photography and supply these to the media in jpg format. We can supply print copies of photos upon request.

Soliciting advertising

The Office of Public Relations is the source of all advertising placed by Somerset Community College. Advertising representatives of the media should contact David Cazalet at the telephone number and addresses listed above. Rate cards are welcome.

Print materials about Somerset Community College

All departments and divisions of Somerset Community College develop the printed materials they need. Drafts of new printed materials should be submitted to Institutional Advancement for proofreading and to insure compliance with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) stylebook.

The College has an in-house printing facility located on the SCC Somerset Campus South. Ralph Vanover is the printer. Only printing jobs which exceed the capabilities of the College printing facility are contracted out to private printers. Internal order forms for printing services can be obtained from Terrie Wilson, (606) 679-8501, ext. 3878.
