Customized Training

SCC's Community, Workforce and Economic Development division (CWED) works with Business and Industry (B&I) to design customized training to meet the specific training needs in the workplace. The CWED Facilitator works one-on-one with the B&I representative to discuss the specific training classes needed and schedules these courses for the company at their convenience and at their location. If training on location isn't feasible, the CWED department has two large training labs at the Somerset Community College South Campus that can be used and has access to other SCC facilities in Casey, Russell, Clinton, Laurel, and McCreary Counties.

The CWED Facilitator will work with the B&I in acquiring training funds available through the KY WINS program and the Bluegrass State Skills Grant program. Both programs assist companies by paying for part of the cost of the training.

CWED collaborates with other community colleges and adjunct faculty to provide the specialized training if local resources are not available. College credit may be available for certain courses. Some of the customized training courses we’ve provided include but are not limited to:
