SCC announces test dates for General Equivalency Diploma (GED)


Somerset Community College has announced the testing dates for individuals interested in obtaining their General Equivalency Diploma (GED). The testing dates from January, 2009, through June, 2009, are as follows:

To take the GED exam, you must be registered with an Adult Education Provider and pass the GED practice test.


There is an Adult Education Center in each of the counties that the Somerset Community College Test Center serves.


The GED exam may be taken at the Somerset Community College Test Center which is located on the SCC Campus North in the Strunk Learning Center, Room 100 or at any of the following additional sites: Casey County, Clinton County, Garrard County, Lincoln County, McCreary County, Rockcastle County, or Wayne County.


All GED candidates must be pre-registered to take the exam, and the Adult Education Provider in your county can help you with the process.
The science, social studies, language arts reading and math sessions begin at 3 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The language arts writing sessions begin at 5 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The All-Day sessions are as follows: Math – 8 a.m., Language Arts Writing – 10 a.m., Science, Social Studies and Language Arts Reading – 12:30 p.m. Those taking the test must arrive 15 minutes before the test is scheduled to begin.
